Dadi, noticing the tense atmosphere, declares that the matter should be considered resolved and suggests they all leave.
As they are about to leave, Lakshmi receives a call from Shalu, her sister, and excitedly informs the children that Shalu is coming over. When Shalu arrives, Rohan and Paro excitedly tell her about the fight between Lakshmi and Rishi. Paro describes Lakshmi as stubborn, while Rohan agrees, recounting how their father had saved Lakshmi from a fire in the kitchen. Shalu, concerned for her sister, asks how Lakshmi is doing. Paro reassures her that Lakshmi is fine but notes that she has been reluctant to thank their father for his heroic act. Rohan adds that Lakshmi will express her gratitude when she feels ready.
Just then, Malishka enters the scene, trying to distract the children with the promise of a surprise, effectively sending them away. Shalu, feeling uneasy, asks Malishka where she was when the fire started. Malishka, with a hint of guilt, admits that while she was not directly responsible, she fears that her hatred might have somehow caused it. Shalu, infuriated by Malishka’s remarks, warns her that if her taunts prove to be true, she would not hesitate to lock her up and test whether the fire of anger or the actual fire burns hotter. Malishka, in her mind, believes that this time, nothing can prevent her from executing her plans against Lakshmi.

Lakshmi, who has been quietly listening, confides in Shalu, explaining that she is trying to protect Paro and herself. Shalu, in turn, advises Lakshmi not to hurt Rishi and to set boundaries in her actions. However, Lakshmi, burdened by past experiences, reminds Shalu of everything that has happened to her. She recalls how, despite wanting to be honest with Rishi and feeling guilty for keeping secrets, Rishi’s actions, including calling the police on her, have left her emotionally scarred. Lakshmi expresses how Rishi has continuously toyed with her feelings, making it hard for her to trust him again.
Shalu tries to defend Rishi, urging Lakshmi not to think so negatively about him, reminding her of the pain she endured missing him all those years. But Lakshmi’s hurt is deep-seated. She questions whether it’s easy to see someone you love in front of you with someone else, especially when that person is supposed to be your spouse. She describes the agony of seeing Rishi and Malishka together, sharing the same room, even the same bed, which tears her apart. Lakshmi laments that while Rishi asks her to leave the past behind, her past is very much her present, and she is constantly reminded of it.
Lakshmi’s pain is palpable as she explains to Shalu that her heart keeps breaking, and although she tries to stay strong, the constant hurt is overwhelming. Lakshmi confides in Shalu that living with this constant emotional turmoil feels like dying every day, but she endures it for the sake of her daughter. She acknowledges her deep love for Rishi, admitting that despite everything, her heart still belongs to him, making the pain even more unbearable. Shalu, moved by her sister’s anguish, embraces Lakshmi and comforts her, offering her water as she breaks down in tears.
Meanwhile, Rishi, who has been watching from a distance, is filled with regret and sorrow. He wants to comfort Lakshmi but is held back by her earlier harsh words. His eyes well up with tears as he confides in Ayush, blaming himself for all the hardships Lakshmi has faced. Rishi expresses his desire to give Lakshmi all the happiness in the world, but he feels that she sees him as an enemy instead. He questions why Lakshmi can’t let go of the past, even though he has overlooked her mistakes. Ayush, who is loyal to Lakshmi, tells Rishi confidently that Lakshmi has never made a mistake. This makes Rishi think about his own actions.
