Kumkum Bhagya 20 August 2024 Written Update: The episode of Kumkum Bhagya on August 20, 2024, begins with RV waking up from sleep. As he opens his eyes, he notices that Purvi is still asleep beside him. RV assumes he must have woken up earlier than usual and feels content watching Purvi peacefully resting. However, when he checks the time, he is shocked to find that it’s already 10 a.m. Concerned, he looks at Purvi, whose sleep seems to be disturbed by the bright sunlight filtering into the room. Wanting to protect her sleep, RV quickly sits up and places himself in between her and the sunlight, blocking the rays from reaching her face.
As he sits there, RV decides to check his email but finds himself distracted by Purvi’s serene face. His thoughts drift to the warnings he had given Khushi and the way he had treated Purvi harshly in the past. A sense of guilt washes over him as he recalls the times he had tortured her, especially by lowering the AC temperature to make her uncomfortable. Just as he is about to get up and leave the room, he is surprised to find Vicky standing in front of him.
Meanwhile, Deepika calls Monisha, who picks up the call with a hint of irritation, questioning why Deepika has been calling her repeatedly. Deepika, eager to share some news, tells Monisha about a party that Anmol has organized for RV. She happily informs Monisha that Purvi has managed to resolve RV’s problems. This news brings a smile to Monisha’s face. At that moment, Harleen walks into the room, causing Deepika to quickly change the subject. Harleen, noticing Deepika’s abrupt change in conversation, asks if she has seen her phone. Deepika casually responds that she hasn’t.

Back at RV’s house, RV tells Dada Ji and Vicky that he feels he isn’t the right match for Purvi. He expresses his regret over the way he troubled her by lowering the AC temperature the previous night. Dada Ji and Vicky find this amusing and begin teasing RV about it. Embarrassed, RV leaves the room while Dada Ji and Vicky discuss how, despite RV’s insecurities, he and Purvi make the perfect couple.
The family then begins preparing for Anmol’s party. The atmosphere is light and filled with playful banter among the family members. Harleen, noticing that time is running out, urges everyone to hurry up so they aren’t late for the party. Harman agrees and begins deciding which car they should take to the event. Monisha enters the room just as the family is discussing car arrangements. Deepika, with a hint of mischief, tells Monisha that all the cars are full and suggests that she should ride with RV. Monisha agrees without much thought.
RV then points out that Purvi hasn’t arrived yet. Just as he says this, Purvi enters the room, looking radiant. RV can’t help but smile as he sees her. He quickly goes to fetch his car keys, clearly excited about the evening ahead. While RV is gone, Yug takes the opportunity to compliment Purvi in front of Monisha, which seems to irk her. When RV returns with the car keys, he asks Monisha to sit in the back seat, a request that clearly annoys her.
She reluctantly agrees and sits beside Yug, while RV asks Purvi to join him in the front seat. Purvi happily agrees, and as she sits beside RV, she can’t help but smile at him. Monisha, observing this interaction, grows increasingly bitter and silently vows that Purvi’s happiness will not last long.
At the party, Riya approaches Harleen to apologize for misunderstanding RV. However, Harleen is not in a forgiving mood and sharply rebukes Riya, reminding her of the harsh statements she had made against RV in the media. Embarrassed and hurt, Riya leaves the scene. Harman, watching this unfold, comments on the judgmental nature of society. Anmol then joins them and informs Harman that he has invited a diverse group of people to the party, asking him to tolerate them for his sake. Harman, understanding his son’s intentions, agrees.

As the party continues, media personnel approach RV’s family, requesting a family photograph. Harman agrees, but the reporter points out that the most important people—RV and his wife—are missing. Dada Ji reassures them that RV and Purvi will be making a special entry soon.
Meanwhile, Soham brings Diya to the party. Diya, feeling out of place, confesses that she doesn’t know anyone there. Soham explains that the party is in honor of RV, which piques her interest. Outside the venue, RV stops the car when he spots Diya. Purvi is delighted to see her and quickly greets her. RV, after parking the car, joins them and suggests they all head inside together. Purvi agrees, and as they walk inside, her bracelet gets caught on RV’s watch.
They both laugh as Purvi tries to untangle it, with RV teasing her playfully. Purvi jokingly calls RV “alien types,” to which RV responds that this is why they are perfect for each other. The two share a happy moment, unaware that Monisha is watching them from a distance, seething with jealousy.
